I’m Jalpa, and I’ve always had a huge heart for schools. There’s just something magical about the energy, the people, and the purpose. I’ve been in the Social Work field for about 20 years, with most of my experience rooted in school-based mental health across public, private, and charter settings.

My work is rooted in one guiding belief: cultural curiosity is a powerful pathway to collective belonging—especially in schools.

I’ve had the joy of providing clinical supervision to school-based practitioners—through individual supervision, group supervision, and PPS credentialing support. My style is creative, reflective, and grounded in cultural curiosity. I’m inspired by the decolonizing therapy and counter-narrative frameworks. My approach always centers you—the practitioner—and lifts up your strengths and uniqueness.

Outside of supervision, I’m a lifelong learner (and a big-time reader!). I have the privilege of teaching at CSU Long Beach as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Social Work Department, where my class focuses on creating intentional space for reflection.

I am especially excited to share my picture book called Wizzy the Worldly Tree: A tale of cultural curiosity. For me, cultural curiosity is deeply connected to belonging. This is a tale –inspired by true events– that follows a curious girl as she discovers this powerful truth: everyone has a story of culture & heritage. Everyone belongs.
